I recently completed this mural at Tacoa in East Sacramento. I continued the story of the pollinators. Here, the woman is using a special whistle to call in the hummingbirds (huītzilin in Nahuatl). Hummingbirds do their part in pollinating the maguey and agave where tequila and mezcal come from. The men are seen working the land but my intent here is to demonstrate a labor of love. The people illustrated are working the land out of love for the process and beauty of living off the land.
